11.00 a.m.: S.M. Foo Chong Choon came and showed us
how to make and light a Pyramid Fire. We had not only to light the
fire but also prepare our tifffin for the day. Our Headmaster, Mr.
F. L. Shaw was also present and he went round with our S.M. to have
a look at the results of our efforts in the culinary arts.
1.00 p.m.: We had our tiffin in camp and so did not
go home for the afternoon.
2.30 p.m.: A.D.C. Akbar gave us instruction in

4.30 p.m.: The S.M. inspected our cooking places to
find out if we had left any tell-tale signs of having cooked our
meals or not, for real good Scouts should not leave any such signs
behind. All rubbish should be either burned or buried in a pit. I
would advise those Scouts who go for picnics in future to note this
important point. After the inspection of the cooking sites the tent
was struck by the Tiger Patrol as no scout would have liked to remain
for the night.
5.15 p.m.: We were dismissed.
